Up Close and Personal with Roy Williams


Roy was born August 1, 1950 in Spruce pine, North Carolina. His family relocated to Asheville when Roy was child and that is where he grew up. He lettered in basketball and baseball at T.C. Roberson High School near Asheville for all four years. His basketball coach was Buddy Baldwin and Roy has stated many times that he was one of the biggest influences in his life. (Sporting News)
