UNC won its season opener for the 21st straight season. It was the largest season-opening win since a 115-75 win over Howard on 11/29/1975. Caleb Wilson became the 40th Tar Heel to start his first game as a true freshman since freshmen became eligible in 1972-73. Henri Veesaar recorded 14 points and 10 rebounds for his first career double-double.
