The last time Kansas played North Carolina as an unranked team was when the No. 1 Tar Heels won 74-67 in Charlotte in 1981, in Michael Jordan’s college debut (Highlights). UNC's last victory over Kansas came 67-56 in Madison Square Garden under Matt Doherty in the 2002 Preseason NIT. That was the only time UNC faced Kansas under Doherty. (Tar Heel Tribune)
