Is there a place for walk-ons in the future of college sports?

In football, there had been a limit of 85 scholarships, but Division I rosters averaged more than 146 players for the 2024-25 academic year, according to data compiled by Opendorse. Now rosters would be capped at 105. Baseball would lose nine spots from its average; women's soccer would lose five. The players on the outside looking in? Walk-ons. (ESPN.com)
