At the Carolina Center for Public Service’s award presentation in April, UNC honored two dearly missed Tar Heels. The new Montross Award, in honor of former Tar Heel basketball great who died of cancer in 2023, recognizes a student-athlete who exemplified outstanding engagement and service to the state through a specific effort.
