Freddie Kiger, this week’s Hometown Hero, is a history teacher and statistician who was just honored with the Order of the Long Leaf Pine. He’s has won 3 Emmy awards for ESPN’s SportsCentury series. He works as a statistician at the Smith Center in a sweater vest he first wore so his mom could see him on TV, a sweater vest he still wears in her honor. (Chapelboro.com)
