After posting a 40-17 record last season, the Tar Heels' first 40-win season since 2017, UNC Softball enters 2026 aiming not only to return to the NCAA Regionals, but to build on its momentum under third-year coach Megan Smith Lyon. "Every day is trying to push the needle forward and try to get better and better with this program," Smith Lyon said.
