Matthew Matthijs Returns, Takes on Captain Role for UNC Baseball

Matthew Matthijs has never been the loudest guy, but entering 2026, he doesn't have to be. UNC Baseball's senior right-hander was named a team captain this preseason, a role coach Scott Forbes says reflects years of growth. "Gavin Gallaher and Matthew Matthijs are our two captains this year. They aren't our only leaders, but they are our captains."
