Travis McKie scores 18 as Roy Williams looks on

Too quick. Too fast. Way too tough on the boards. That was the story of John Marshall's 62-51 victory over Douglas Freeman last night in the championship game of the Colonial District basketball tournament played before a crowd of 950 at Patrick Henry.

District player of the year Travis McKie, playing under the watchful eye of University of North Carolina coach , finished with 18 points.

"The game affects me more [than Williams' presence]," said the 6-7 junior. "Every time we play Freeman, I always try to rush. As soon as I calmed down and our team got together, we played strong." (Richmond Times-Dispatch)
