UNC didn't defend well enough or play offense well enough to win the game. To complicate matters, the Tigers were the more physical team. There was a lot of energy the final three minutes as the Tar Heels cut the deficit from 15 points with 3:33 left to one with 2.7 seconds remaining, but the fourth seed was outplayed in the prior 37 minutes.
