Long Streaks End for No. 2 Oklahoma and No. 3 U.N.C.
Posted Feb 22, 2009
Oklahoma’s 13-game winning streak is over, and so is North Carolina’s 10-game run. Greivis Vasquez had a career-high 35 points and 11 rebounds and 10 assists — Maryland’s first triple-double in 22 years — and the Terrapins rallied from a 16-point deficit at home to shock No. 3 North Carolina, 88-85, in overtime. The triple-double was the first for Maryland since Derrick Lewis did it twice in 1987.
