Yesterday morning, Tyler Hansbrough was the toast of a town suddenly under basketball siege. He probably preferred the role of dry toast, but there he stood before a packed house, shifting his weight and measuring his words. As the paying customers finished off their $35 plates of eggs, Hansbrough accepted the Oscar Robertson trophy, awarded to the nation’s best player by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association.
