Before the season began, Illinois basketball coach Brad Underwood and his staff devised a training tool they believed would help optimize offensive efficiency. Each kind of shot a player might take was funneled into a grading system. Regardless of whether shots were made or missed, each attempt could then be deemed worthy of a gold, silver or bronze medal.
