Walt Weiss, 62, the former All-Star shortstop and American League Rookie of the Year, who played 14 years in the major leagues, won three pennants and the 1989 World Series with the Oakland A’s, and managed four years with the Colorado Rockies, still can’t believe one incident has overshadowed everything he has accomplished in his baseball career.
