For North Carolina to make a deep tournament run, the Tar Heels will need length from their starting pitchers. Ryan Lynch met that challenge in Friday’s opener of the Chapel Hill Regional. The sophomore right-hander threw a career-high 108 pitches in seven two-hit, shutout innings as No. 4 UNC thumped VCU 8–0 before a packed Boshamer Stadium. (Tar Heel Tribune)
