Tommy Thigpen Named Defensive Coordinator at NC Central

Former UNC three-time All-ACC linebacker and assistant coach Tommy Thigpen has been hired as defensive coordinator and safeties coach for the NC Central Eagles. Most recently, Thigpen spent the 2025 football season coaching linebackers for the Arlington Renegades of the United Football League (UFL). He coached linebackers at UNC from 2019-24. (NCCU Eagles)
