Michael Malone’s father was architect of the 'Jordan Rules' as Pistons assistant coach

As a Detroit Pistons assistant coach under Chuck Daly from 1988 to 1995, Michael Malone’s father, Brendan Malone, helped devise one of basketball’s most famous defensive schemes. The "Jordan Rules" was the blueprint that helped Detroit limit Michael Jordan’s production and overcome the Chicago Bulls on their way to NBA titles in 1989 and 1990.
