Determined effort adds to seniors' legacy
Posted Mar 9, 2009
There was something tedious about the way North Carolina’s seniors climbed up the ladder beneath the basket Sunday evening, taking turns with a pair of scissors and clipping down pieces of the net. The Tar Heels’ 28th ACC regular season title was theirs and theirs alone thanks to a 79-71 defeat of rival Duke at the Smith Center. It was a feel-good moment, sure. But it was also somewhat flat. Boring, even.
