UNC's ties with Ireland go back centuries

UNC Football will make history when it plays its first international game against TCU on Aug. 29 in Dublin. But did you know that there are more Irish connections to the University’s history? Swimmer Grace Hodgins hails from Greystones, Ireland. Punter Adam McCann-Gibbs, grew up 100 miles from Dublin. Three former Tar Heel athletes are from Dublin. (UNC.edu)
