Former Major League Baseball exec Tim Brosnan chosen to be new Big East commissioner

The new commissioner of the Big East is something of a curveball. The league announced on Monday the hiring of former Major League Baseball executive Tim Brosnan, a 68-year-old Georgetown graduate who will replace outgoing commissioner Val Ackerman on September 1.
