Jake Heaps avoids potential recruiting violation

Gotten a few questions about what happened Thursday night when Skyline High QB Jake Heaps was welcomed into the Dawg Pack and then removed by an usher. UW officials can't comment on the specifics or even confirm that it is Heaps they are talking about.

However, I have confirmed that the UW football staff was nervous that Heaps being in the Dawg Pack and given a T-shirt to wear might be construed as a special benefit and a possible violation, so they asked that he be moved to a different area. I'm told Heaps understood the explanation just fine and has no issues with it. (Seattle Times)
