Tyler Hansbrough set the Atlantic Coast Conference career scoring record on a free throw with 15:43 to play in the opening half. Hansbrough came into the game two points shy of Duke's JJ Redick (2,769) and finished the game with 22 points. Hansbrough now has 2,289 points, most in ACC history and 16th-best in NCAA history. The Tar Heels won their 97th NCAA Tournament win, one behind Kentucky.
