Wayne Ellington saw Saturday’s showdown as a proving ground, a chance to show the nation why he deserves just a few of the Heels headlines. And he responded in impressive fashion, scoring 23 points and leaving a locker room full of LSU players to gush about his skills. “Garrett is one of the best defenders in the nation,” said Tigers sophomore Bo Spencer. “But we saw tonight that Ellington is a heck of a player."
