Hope springs eternal for UNC, State football

Sometimes the excitement of spring is a harbinger of what might be in store once the tailgates come out, the leaves begin go turn and young men once again don helmets and pads to bump heads with one another on the gridiron each Saturday afternoon. For the first time in recent memory, both North Carolina and N.C. State might fit into that category. Butch Davis looks to be right on schedule for a major breakthrough in Year 3 of his tenure.
