Posted May 19, 2009
Caught up with St. John's Catholic Prep Coach Jimmy Ward, whose star defensive end Ego "J.R." Ferguson will be the area's most heavily recruited rising senior football player. The 6-3 ½, 275-pound Ferguson has more than 40 scholarship offers and Ward said that Ferguson might thin his list soon. Among the schools that have sent assistant coaches to the Frederick campus this spring: Maryland, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Clemson, North Carolina, California, Miami, Southern Cal, UCLA, Connecticut, Rutgers, Oklahoma, Louisiana State, Florida State, Tennessee, Georgia, Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio State. "I'm trying to think so I don't forget anyone," Ward said.
