Pitino hoping to avoid '95 result
Posted Mar 29, 2008
The building was a sea of blue. Deep blue. Kentucky blue. Full-throated Kentucky blue. Yeah, Birmingham's Civic Center wasn't a home court for Kentucky's Wildcats that region-final day of 1995, but it was close enough. Those Cats were bound sure as shootin' for the Final Four, and everyone from Pikeville to Paducah (and ZIP codes in between) packed the joint for the send-off. Drat that Dean Smith for monkey-wrenching the coronation.
