Padres interested in Donavan Tate

The Padres continue to heavily scout Georgia prep outfielder for the No. 3 pick in the draft on June 9. General Manager Kevin Towers said that even though high school players may take longer to reach the majors “we will take the best player available.” Tate has top-end foot speed and is rated by Padres and non-Padres scouts as a phenomenal athlete with promising baseball instincts.
