Teams bring strengths to in-state showdown

North Carolina's pitching receives plenty of mention. East Carolina's hitting might be right there with that. So that makes the NCAA super regional, which begins this afternoon at Boshamer Stadium, a potential clash of strengths. "They can hurt you if you don't pitch well," North Carolina coach Mike Fox said. "They're just too good an offensive team for us to not pitch well. They can hurt you up and down the lineup."
