Donavan Tate brings tools, no trials

Posted Jun 12, 2009
Donavan Tate brings all of the tools and none of the tribulation. He's a ballplayer with no known baggage and not much in the way of ego. He can hit, run, throw, field and can do so without forgetting his manners. On those questions that can be answered yes or no, Tate is so quick to add “sir,” the word could be confused for a suffix. If he does not make it as a Padres center fielder, he has a promising future as a concierge. (Sign on San Diego)
