'57 team put hoops on the map

As Carolina prepares to celebrate its 100th season of collegiate basketball, one year remains particularly special to the school and the ACC. UNC defeated Kansas and its star center Wilt Chamberlain in three overtimes to win the national title in 1957. Former Carolina player Bob Cunningham later said that Chamberlain credited the Tar Heels with putting the new ACC on the map with that win.
