Advice shaped Vince Carter's path

Vince Carter stirred a national buzz with his pending college decision in 1995. According to an Orlando Sentinel report, North Carolina radio stations and Tallahassee television stations reported that Carter would attend Florida State. Nick Anderson said he strongly encouraged Carter to go to farther up the map to North Carolina. "I said, 'Why would you want to go to a football school?' " Anderson said. (Orlando Sentinel)
