Tyler Hansbrough waves green to get race started
Posted Jul 27, 2009
Former UNC basketball standout Tyler Hansbrough, drafted 13th by the NBA’s Indiana Pacers last month, made his first appearance at a NASCAR event Sunday, waving the green flag to start the Allstate 400. Asked before the race if he talked to any of the drivers, Hansbrough said, “Elliott Sadler is a big Tar Heels fan, so I talked to him. I think he watches us play a lot. I met him, and he is a really good dude. I am a Sadler fan and a (Dale Earnhardt) Junior fan.”
