Roy Williams getting familiar with Ames, Iowa
Posted Jul 31, 2009
Friday, July 31 marked the end of the summer recruiting period, and Roy Williams was happy to celebrate the occasion in his office at North Carolina. The Tar Heels head coach said he’s been on the road 17 days this month. He also mentioned that he’d snuck in a few trips to Mid-Iowa in the last several months. “I’ll say this; I’ve been to Ames six times in the last 13 months,” Williams said. The former Kansas coach is returning to Big 12 country to recruit Ames High senior Harrison Barnes.
