T.J. Yates puts aside basketball

Basketball once was such a high priority for T.J. Yates that he took a hiatus from football during high school in an effort to hone his college hoops prospects. By now, though, those roots that pull toward basketball have been planted in the past for the North Carolina quarterback, who has logged 18 starts during his Tar Heels career. "I’ve got a good thing going playing football," the redshirt junior said at last week’s ACC Football Kickoff.
