Butch Davis uses old formula

Davis has applied some of the same principles from his time at Miami at UNC. There is the reliance on in-state recruiting, speed on defense and an emphasis on limiting mistakes. But it's not a carbon copy of the original blueprint. The biggest difference is that at previous stops, Davis was part of a group of assistant coaches who stayed together and followed head coach Jimmy Johnson from Miami to Dallas in the last 1980s.
