North Carolina Postgame Notes vs. The Citadel
Posted Sep 6, 2009
North Carolina won its third straight opener to improve to 3-0 in the season's first game under Butch Davis. Davis evened his record in Chapel Hill at 13-13 with the victory. This is the first time UNC has won three straight season openers since winning six in a row from 1989 to 1994. The 40 points were the most by the Tar Heels in a season opener since they beat William and Mary, 49-38, to open the 2004 season.
