T.J. Yates Named Progress Energy Performer Of The Week

T.J. Yates was 19 of 24 for 227 yards and two touchdowns in a 31-17 win over ECU and is the Progress Energy Tar Heel of the Week for September 14-20, 2009. The junior from Marietta, Ga., connected with freshman Erik Highsmith on a 16-yard touchdown pass to tie the score at seven, then found Jheranie Boyd on a 59-yard touchdown play in the second quarter to give UNC a 14-7 lead. Yates completed a career-high 79.2 percent of his passes.
