Defense sets the pace for Heels

North Carolina has the sixth-ranked overall defense in the country in the latest rankings, but the statistic that matters most is the 3-0 start to the season. This is the first time since 1997 that the Tar Heels are 3-0, and it's no coincidence this is the fastest defense it has put on the field since the dominant group of '97 led UNC to an 11-1 record in Mack Brown's final season in Chapel Hill.
