Tech defense fails to get key stops against North Carolina
Posted Oct 30, 2009
A night, on the whole, made for the supposedly much-superior Hokies to muscle up before their faithful and roast them some Tar Heel. Except Virginia Tech never lit the fire. The Hokies rarely dented UNC’s top-10 defense and labored mightily to score. And from evenings like this – nights on which Tech coach Frank Beamer searched for words afterward and vaguely repeated, “the game just didn’t fit,” –you get North Carolina 20, Virginia Tech 17.
