Harrison Barnes: ESPN's Vitale, Bilas gush over Ames recruit
Posted Nov 13, 2009
ESPNU will televise [Harrison Barnes'] signing live [at 4 pm EST] — and it will stream live on DesMoinesRegister.com. The 6-foot-7, 17-year-old is considered by most to be the nation’s No. 1 recruit. “Whoever gets him is going to have a leg up in college basketball,” ESPN’s Jay Bilas said. “He’s one of those guys who can get you to the Final Four. He’s that good.” Bilas, who played at Duke, agreed with Vitale’s perspective. “They are sitting on pins and needles, waiting to see what he is going to do,” Bilas said.
