North Carolina pulls off coup with Barnes commitment

North Carolina pulled one of the impressive come-from-behind recruiting surprises of recent years when Harrison Barnes, Sporting News' No. 3 prospect among high school seniors, announced Friday he would be signing with the Tar Heels. In the summertime, most top analysts expected Barnes to choose between Duke and Kansas, but the Heels made a strong push to land him – perhaps, in part, to assert their regional and national dominance over the Devils.
