Field Hockey Team Named Progress Energy Performer Of The Week


North Carolina's field hockey team defeated top-ranked and previously unbeaten Maryland, 3-2, to win the 2009 NCAA championship and earn Progress Energy Tar Heel of the Week honors for November 16-22. Senior captain Danielle Forword scored the game-winning goal on a penalty corner with 11.7 seconds to play to give the Tar Heels and head coach their sixth field hockey title. (Tar Heel Blue)
