No. 11 North Carolina towered over Gardner-Webb on Monday night in notching its fifth win of the season, 93-72. Post players Deon Thompson, Tyler Zeller and Ed Davis combined for 53 points and 28 rebounds in Roy Williams' 599th career victory. Deon Thompson tied his career high with 22 points and pulled down 10 rebounds as the Tar Heels methodically built a 35-17 lead less than 12 minutes into the first half.
