Lucas: UNC Basketball Mailbag

Coach of the Year: Roy Williams, North Carolina I had considered names like Oliver Purnell, Dino Gaudio or Seth Greenberg. But in the end, both achievement and expectations should be counted in this award. Did the other coaches overachieve? Perhaps. But Williams coached his team through losing its top two point guards and through a number of close and comeback victories. This team went 13-0 on the road and it was never easy. (Tar Heel Blue)
