Tar Heels hold off Spartans in rematch of title game

While Tuesday night’s rematch, part of the ACC / Big Ten Challenge, didn’t have the same stakes as the teams’ previous meeting that yielded North Carolina’s fifth NCAA Tournament title, it did have the same result as North Carolina hung on for a 89-82 victory. Eight months earlier, North Carolina romped past the Spartans 89-72 in the NCAA Tournament final in Detroit. (Burlington Times News)
