Tar Heels hold off Stanford to claim program's 21st NCAA championship

Neither snow on Friday nor rain on Sunday could keep the North Carolina women's soccer team from delivering a 20th NCAA national championship with a 1-0 victory over Stanford at the Aggie Soccer Stadium. In 47-degree weather and a light rain, a crowd of 8,536 saw North Carolina forward Jessica McDonald score her ninth goal of the season 2 minutes, 50 seconds into the game.
