In an area and a state dominated by UNC basketball fans, news that their favorite team is planning a game in Asheville should create a huge demand for tickets. UNC coach Roy Williams said Thursday he will bring the Tar Heels to the Land of the Sky to open UNC Asheville's new basketball arena. The plan is for the Tar Heels vs. UNCA to be the first game in Kimmel Arena, a 3,800-seat structure expected to be completed next December. (Asheville Citizen-Times)
