Pitt vs. North Carolina over the years
Posted Dec 26, 2009
This will be the seventh meeting in a series North Carolina leads 4-2. The teams last met Nov.4, 2000, at Pittsburgh during the waning days of Carl Torbush's tenure as coach. The Tar Heels entered that game at Three Rivers Stadium with a 3-5 record, but the Panthers couldn't stop defensive end Julius Peppers and the North Carolina pass rush. Peppers had three of the Tar Heels' seven sacks as North Carolina won 20-17.
