Posted Jan 4, 2010
Roanoke Rapids native Trase Jones received quite the present at a Christmas dinner the night before the Tar Heels took on the University of Pittsburgh in the Meineke Car Care Bowl. “We were just eating Christmas dinner and Coach (Butch) Davis pulled me over to the side and asked if I was having a good Christmas,” said Jones. “I said yes sir and then he said, ‘I have a Christmas gift for you, I am going to put you on a full scholarship.’”
