Connecticut rips UNC women for 54th in a row
Posted Jan 10, 2010
Not even the nation's top teams have provided Connecticut with much of a challenge during its 54-game winning streak. Tina Charles scored all of her 25 points in the first half and grabbed 13 rebounds, and UConn demolished No. 7 North Carolina 88-47 yesterday. The streak tied one Louisiana Tech had in from 1980 to 1982 as the second-longest in Division I women's basketball history. UConn also has the longest streak, 70 straight in 2001-03.
